World Premiere of the Rockumentary Video

SOMERVILLE, MA—The latest music video collaboration from producer/director Claude von Roesgen and satirist/actor/musician Dan Margarita, "Save the Paper Towels," premiers on Saturday, November 25, from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Somerville Theatre MicroCinema (55 Davis Square). The video portrays a germaphobe custodian who writes a song in support of his most ardent cause, and then convinces a retired band to regroup to perform it. The evening also includes a retrospective of several music videos the two have produced together.
A product of the legendary Boston comedy scene of the 1980's, Stoneham native Dan Margarita has worked with such notable comics as Sam Kinison, Judy Tenuta, Louie CK, Marc Maron, as well as political satirists Jimmy Tingle and Barry Crimmins. He currently defines himself as a "standup-singer-songwriter," to reflect his unique combination of humor and love of music. His three CDs, "Kill the Messenger,"  "Kinda Pregnant," and "Put it on the Vinyl," promote his mostly satirical view of the modern world. He has also collaborated with von Roesgen to produce over a dozen music videos.
Von Roesgen is an MIT graduate with passions for creating and producing video and film projects and for finding alternative energy and simple living solutions. He is also the director of Jimi Sir: An American Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal, which chronicles his friend’s quest to finish both a water quality and an educational development project in the Himalayas before his term in the Peace Corps ended.
The $10 admission ($8.00 in advance) includes pizza. The theatre cash bar is also available. Seating is limited to 27. For advanced reservations, go to http://savethepapertowels.brownpapertickets.com/. Remaining tickets will be available at the door, downstairs in the Somerville Theatre MicroCinema, on a first-come, first-served basis, at 7:00 PM on the night of the event.
