Community Art Project
Visualizing Voice is a community art project led by the Somerville Arts Council and a band of dedicated volunteers. In honor of this year’s ArtBeat theme: Voice, this project is designed to reflect the many voices in our community.
During the weeks leading up to the festival, there will be a series of public workshops to help bring your inner creative voice to life.
Get Creative!!
Voice can express many things-- a sound, a feeling, or moment in time. It can be a rally cry or a soft gentle whisper. Whether is it personal anecdote, poem, or social cause, here is your chance to visualize YOUR voice. Finished pieces will be collected as part of a community installation for ArtBeat festival.
Create with us at one of the upcoming workshops OR download the pattern attached to this message and create on your own time.
As we collect the pieces, we will be arranging into a colored sound wave. So, when designing your work, think about in terms of warm colors or cooler tones. For instance, develop piece that has reds, yellow, oranges or a piece that has blues and greens.
