Call out for Artist Instructors - Armory Summer 2017 Programs
The Armory is looking for local artist instructors to teach at our summer programs in a wide range of disciplines, including both visual and performing arts.
The programs we're offering include:
Arts Discovery Week is an arts education program that offers multi-disciplinary artistic workshops, in 10 half-day sessions, during the summer during the summer for children ages 5-10 years old. The program is scheduled for the weeks of August 7 to 11 and August 21 to 25.
Visual Arts Week is an arts education program that introduces participants to different aspects of visual arts including drawing, painting, illustration, and more, in 10 half-day sessions during the summer for youth ages 11-16 years old. The program is also scheduled for the weeks of August 7 to 11 and August 21 to 25.
For these two programs, there will be 10 different half-day sessions encouraging participants to explore different art media through a wide variety of topics each day.
The dates for the Youth Arts Arise program in summer are from August 14 to 18. We're looking for instructors to teach 2 to 4 different artistic disciplines. Morning classes and afternoon classes each build up a different thematic area.
As part of Youth Arts Arise, we're looking for a professional muralist to work with youth ages 11 to 16 years old. We also have the option to work on the project from August 28 to 31.
For all these programs, workshops will be offered from 9:30 am to 12:00pm and 1:00 pm to 3:30pm each day, not including setup/cleanup time.Instructors may choose to teach a session in the morning, the afternoon, or both.
The class only happens once for one timeslot given that it's a sample format of a summer program. Participants get to learn a new activity during each session. They move from class to class throughout the day and week.
Candidates should have experience teaching the age group(s) they're interested in working with and are paid $62.5 per session, including setup/cleanup time.
