The latest of our occasional "Duo Duo" events will feature the Giuseppe Paradiso/Jussi Reijonen Duo and the Adam Janjugian/Jamie Stewardson Duo.
Giuseppe Paradiso was born in Santeramo in Colle, Italy and started his musical studies on drums at the age of six. He went on to conservatory study as well as training in jazz tradition, winning an international marimba competition along the way, and came to Boston in 2008. He has performed internationally, lead the band Meridian 71, curated a concert series, and keeps a busy schedule as an educator. Oud and guitar player Jussi Reijonen's musical journey has taken him from his native Northern Finland to years spent living in the Middle East, East Africa, and now the United States. As a result, in both his original compositions and his playing, the open spaces and silences of Scandinavia rub shoulders with the modes of Arab music and Indian and West African rhythms.
They'll be joined by pianist Adam Janjigian & guitarist Jamie Stewardson. Both are well known to Boston jazz audiences and come together for their first duo performance in several years.
