Music From Within, Cold/FLu Natural Remedies, Press-Less Prints Series, Holistic Pregnancy and More

Here are our upcoming classes:

Music From Within
Always wanted to create music but haven’t known where to begin? Do you believe you’re just “not a musical person?” Feel confident in your musicality but looking for a new way to experience and create music with like-minded peers? Then join Music From Within and let's create and connect with each other and ourselves . This class will be the musical equivalent of yoga and meditation.

Cold/Flu Natural Remedies
If you're looking to maintain your health, you might not start with a trip to your medicine cabinet or the clinic. Believe it or not, you have everything you need in your own kitchen. Many foods in our kitchens have medicinal properties that have been used for centuries to help people stay healthy.

Press-Less Prints Series: Artist's Books with Prints
In this class, you will be introduced to different bookbinding techniques. You will get to bind the prints you've made throughout the week into your own artist books. Students who were not in class earlier in the week can use the bookbinding techniques to make their own sketchbooks to fill in later.

Holistic Health in the Childbirthing Year: Holistic Pregnancy
Holistic Pregnancy will give you an opportunity to learn about common challenges in pregnancy, from physical ailments such as nausea and varicosities, to the emotional ups and downs, especially anxiety; will provide herbal and dietary remedies to support mothers; and will include a discussion of herbal safety, sourcing, and information gathering in pregnancy.

Introductory Figure Drawing
Students will develop strong fundamental approaches to figure drawing thoroughly based in the rigorous practice of observation.

Youth Arts Arise

Youth Arts Arise is a free arts education project for students ages 11 to 16, (form is attached). The fall 2016 session for Youth Arts Arise will run Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5pm, October 4th through December 14th (excluding November 22 and 23).

We will resume the program on Tuesday November 29th with the following class.

Zines-November 29th
Zines (pronounced “zeens”). What all zines have in common is that their writers and editors (often the same people/person) feel like they have something important to say that they would like to share with others.

Playmaking-November 30th
In this class, participants will focus on creating, through improvisation, our own play.

Expressive Explorers
This is an eight-week series of workshops on Thursdays from October 20th to December 15th 2016 (skipping November 24) from 9:30 to 11:30 am. This program will allow parents and their toddlers ages 18 months to 5 years the ability to express creativity through a wide range of hands on art activities. Come join us each week or just a few times. Drop in at your convenience anytime during each session. There is a fixed fee of five dollars per visit for each child taking part in the class (no cost for infants that will not take part in the art activities).
We will resume the program on 12/1 and we will keep you posted regarding the project we will be doing on December 1st.
