Somerville Declares October 20 "Community Media Day"
Community Media Day & Open House | Thursday, October 20th | 12-6pm
SCATV will join other community media centers across the country for the newly sanctioned free speech holiday called "Community Media Day."
It is important to note that the City of Somerville passed a resolution acknowledging and proclaiming October 20th at Community Media Day here in our fine city! Many kudos to Alderman Matthew McLaughlin
for leading this effort!
NOW WHAT IS COMMUNITY MEDIA DAY?
Community Media Day is a new annual celebration of voices that brings awareness to the importance of free speech and accessible media for all individuals to have their voices heard. More about national efforts are online here: http://www.communitymediaday.com/.
On this day SCATV will open up our space from 12pm until 6pm, offering many fun-filled activities for the general public to learn more about Somerville's premiere media center. We'll have an outdoor pop-up radio booth, free hands-on youth media making projects, Somerville Neighborhood News Info sessions & news desk photo opps, TV studio training, green screen & PSA recordings and more! Please come on by, say hello and share why you support free speech!
