More summer classes at ABRAZOS PRESS in July in AIR CONDITIONED COMFORT
Abrazos Press is a teaching and Professional print shop in the MILLER ST Studio Building at 11 Miller St. in Somerville, off Beacon St. and near Porter Sq. T.
There are 3 more class offerings this summer. Please refer to the ABRAZOS PRESS WEBSITE for detailed information/ registration. www.abrazospress.com. There are evening classes and a week long intensive in which to explore relief and mixed media printmaking.
Classes are limited to 5
1. PRONTO PLATES : POLYESTER PLATE LITHOGRAPHY
Pronto plates add a variety of possibilities for unusual mark making, photo imagery and
text integration in mixed media printmaking. The plates can be drawn on with sharpie
markers, BIC pens, or painted on with acrylic floor wax. They can be put through laser
printers or photocopy machines. It looks like magic. All will be revealed!
5 Thursday evenings, 6:30-10pm
July 9,16,23, 30,August 6
Cost: $250.00 (pronto plates are about $1.50per plate, and are purchased in class)
2.Print, Wax, Poke and Stitch: new directions for prints-stitched and dimensional
Participants can create prints or work with old ones. We will learn waxing techinques and stitching, sewing and embroidery to add dimension. Prints can be sewn together to make 3-D constructions.

3. Printmania: A weeklong intensive: everything but the kitchen sink, in one short week!
This course will have woodblock carving and printing techniques,working with stencils and masks,printing layers of color, ink modification, tool sharpening and more. A week long intensive is a great way to immerse oneself in a topic and just GO.
5 days: 9:30-4:30 (with lunch break)
July 20-24
Cost: $450.00 (plus $25.00 wood fee)
