Paul Kroner: Portraits @ The SCATV Gallery - 90 Union Square, Somerville,
Paul Kroner: Portraits is on exhibit at the SCATV Gallery until June 25, 2015. Kroner describes himself as a mid - career painter. He creates spirited portraits. To date, his models have been friends, but he mentioned a desire to create a series of portraits of his neighbors. Kroner uses broad, sweeping strokes of color to create light and texture. He is a representational painter who has been known to create abstract work that has a “back in the day”, mod look/quality. The current exhibit also includes self portraits, one which he describes as a ‘selfie’. What is clear is that he is passionate about his work, and that his subjects enjoy working with him.
