A Saxophone Solstice
feat. Sylvie Leys 4tet & Gaia Petrelli Wilmer Choro Quartet

The date is summer solstice, as well as Father's Day, and to celebrate, two excellent saxophonists, one from France and one from Brazil will lead quartets to celebrate the start of the summer , a "saxophone solstice" if you will.
This will be French born saxophonist Sylvie Leys' second performance with Journeys in Sound. Last year she debuted with Otobus Trio which included two great musicians from Turkey, vocalist Burcu Güleç and pianist Eren Başbuğ. This time Sylvie will lead a 4tet. She has lately been under a heavy jazz influence, but there is still a taste of her folkloric background in her compositions. Between Parisian waltzes, East-European flavors and deep blues, the 4tet wish to make you travel all around the world.
Sylvie Leys 4tet are Sylvie Leys (tenor sax), Julian Velasco (vibraphone), Sahil Warsi (double bass), & Gustavo Hernandez (cajon).
