TEDxSomerville CALL FOR ART - April 15, 2015

Art is wanted for this year’s fantabulous

TEDxSomerville

at Assembly Row in Assembly Square, where the theme is REINVENT.

For REINVENT there's the opportunity for indoor and outdoor art, including stage and in-crowd performance. Chosen work will favor interactivity, wonder, surprise, and fun. Fire art, floating art (there's a river!), moving art, suspended art, airborne art (there's a sky!), rooftop art, inflatable art and illuminated art are all possible (replace the word "art' with "music" in any of those phrases, e.g. "inflatable music"). Performance, dance, VJ / DJ, poetry— please dream it up and send it in!

TEDxSomerville, on Sunday, May 17th is a one-day event, but it's looking increasingly likely that portions of the arts component may continue into the night and beyond; and the host may foster longer installations and activities that could commence several weeks before, as well as semi-permanent and permanent art. Provision has been made for artist honoraria. Further financial assistance will be decided on a case-by-case basis. We've already got some amazing things in the pipeline!

While this call will lean toward artists who live in or maintain a studio in Somerville, it is open to all artists in the greater Boston area. REINVENT incarnates Somerville’s reputation for authenticity, audacious fun and creative brilliance at its newest frontier, and we look forward to seeing what you all submit that conveys this theme.

This call has been extended through April 15th. Curation is on a rolling basis. To apply, please contact Jesa Damora, Arts Wrangler at:
