"Garden as Ecosystem"
Join the friendly gardeners of the Somerville Garden Club for a presentation by Kristin Niovi Jones, Director of the Wellesley College Botanic Gardens and a faculty member in Biological and Environmental Studies at the College. Dr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University and a Ph.d. from the University of California. Learn to create diverse assemblages of plants that grow in a healthy, self-sufficient ecosystem. Dr. Jones will explore the functions and interrelationships of organisms in natural plant communities and how they can be applied to our gardens.

The Somerville Garden Club mets the second Wednesday of every month. All meetings are free and the public is invited to attend. Each meeting opens with club announcements, followed by a horticultural question-and-answer session, a lecture and/or demonstration, and concludes with a raffle of donated plants and garden-related items. Parking is available on site, and the building is a short walk from the Davis Square Redline T station. All gardeners and garden enthusiasts are welcome; one third of our members are from other local communities.
