Somerville Mural Project Seeks Artists - December 31, 2014
Are you interested in designing and painting a mural? Please contribute to the Somerville Mural Project!
Opportunity for artists to:
Produce vibrant art that will be seen by the whole city of Somerville and reflect values of the community.
Lead a team of volunteers in painting the mural you design.
Gain publicity.
After the mural is finished, a print of your image will be made and sold to benefit YOU.
Your signature and a biography about you will be hung next to the mural.
The Somerville Murals Project is a public arts collaborative that is bringing together local artists, community members and funding to beautify public spaces throughout the City of Somerville. The vision is to work in partnership with local businesses, the Somerville Arts council, volunteer groups and professional artists to paint murals on 8’ X 10’ exterior plywood sheets throughout Somerville. The murals will make the city more vibrant and represent community values which members of the community will be welcomed to share during an upcoming community meeting about the project. The project’s goal is for people to feel a deeper connection to their community and be reminded of the diversity and beauty of their city. This project will create bright, beautiful art installations throughout our city. The murals will demonstrate to citizens and visitors to Somerville the city’s commitment to the arts and its community.
