EAST SOMERVILLE SOCIAL SERVICES AGENCY SEEKS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
East Somerville Main Streets is currently seeking a new Executive Director:
The East Somerville Main Streets (ESMS) board of directors seeks a self-motivated, entrepreneurial, passionate, and purposeful Executive Director to partner with the Board in impacting the future of East Somerville through the Main Streets program. The Director will continue ESMS’s strong past of implementing best practices in economic and community development and of delivering successful assets-based development in a multicultural neighborhood. They will also develop and execute cultural economic development plans; creating innovative initiatives to tell the story of our community and to develop and promote our community’s unique brand.
The Director will be able to think critically and innovatively about the future of East Somerville at this changing time, and what the role of ESMS will be in that change. They will be responsible for the implementation of existing programs, as well as making recommendations for innovation in the following core areas: grassroots program investment, neighborhood communications, business technical assistance, community advocacy and fundraising.
About ESMS: East Somerville Main Streets (ESMS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to improve the life of our community by creating investment, connection and pride in our main streets. We work from the idea that you cannot have strong community without a strong heart and center for that community in the business district. Our work is achieved by building a coalition of residents, local government, business- and property-owners and community groups who all have a stake in the growth of our community. Together we strengthen the role of East Somerville’s business districts as community and commercial centers and unique cultural destinations.
