SOMERVILLE YOUTH ART PROGRAM - September 23, 2014
Arts at the Armory is launching a free arts education project Youth Arts Arise, which offers multi-disciplinary artistic workshops after school and during the summer for youth ages 11-14.
Our fall 2014 semester will run October 7th- December 16th. Local artist instructors will lead workshops in a wide range of disciplines, including both visual and performing arts. Workshops are currently scheduled for every Tuesday, 3:30-5:30 pm, and we hope to add Monday workshops soon.
Workshop themes will encourage self-exploration through investigation of the participants' individual and cultural identity as well as exploring other cultures, traditions, and diversity.
Do you know a student who would like to participate? The program is free, but advance registration is required. Registration forms are available on our website (direct link: http://www.artsatthearmory.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Youth-Arts-Arise-Registration.docx), or in our office at 191 Highland Ave. Registrations are due by September 23rd, but please contact the office if the deadline has passed; we may still have spaces available.
Are you an artist who'd like to teach in the program? We're looking for expressions of interest, and will be scheduling workshops over the next couple of months for the fall, winter and spring semesters. (Stipends are available.)
