Jimmy Tingle on Robin Williams and events
Dear Friends,
As we mourn the tragic death of beloved comedian, actor, and philanthropist, Robin WIlliams, let us remember that for every star on Hollywood Boulevard affected by substance abuse and depression, there are millions in this country and around the world who suffer in relative obscurity.
If there is one positive development that may come out of this tragedy, it is the heightened awareness around depression, mental health and substance abuse issues plaguing the human condition.
Fortunately for us in the United States under the new healthcare law, it has never been easier and more affordable to get treatment for substance abuse, mental health issues or depression. If you or a loved one needs help and wants help, call your local hospital,
health clinic, or 12-Step program. They are all in the phone book and on the web.
Get the help you need. There's no shame in asking for help.
