SOMERVILLE STEAMPUNK MARSHMALLOW FLUFF FESTIVAL - August 15, 2014

What the Fluff? is a unique Somerville festival dedicated to food, invention and art that celebrates Archibald Query, Somerville resident and inventor of Marshmallow Fluff. Each year the residents of Somerville collaborate on a huge festival that features activities, music, food and fun for Fluff fans of all ages.

This is a great opportunity for a local graphic designer to add to their portfolio by designing a poster, t-shirt and related materials for a wildly popular, highly attended event, now in its 9th year.

FluffCardFrontforprinterThis year’s theme is “Steam-Fluff” and the Festival will be steampunk-inspired. The graphic designer will be asked to create a fun, eye-catching full color digitally printed 11 x 17 poster that reflects this theme as well as the all-ages, fun, Marshmallow Fluff nature of the event. Elements of the poster design or a related design will be used on a screen-printed t-shirt that will be sold at the event. The designer will also be asked to create a postcard and social media icon.

Adobe Photoshop PDFDeadlines for ideas and final designs are throughout the summer, with most final deadlines in mid-August. There is a small stipend available for this project.
