BOSTON: FRENCH CULTURAL CENTER EXHIBITION - March 1-31, 2014
The French Cultural Center exhibits
abstract paintings and landscape drawings
of Lorna Ritz: “A Travelogue in Color”
Partially funded by the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant Program, NYC
Ritz's paintings are steeped in the 19th century French painters who have deepened her expressionist,
'impressionist' paintings over four decades. The Impressionist painters enmeshed themselves in “seeing,”
through a concentration of color relationships derived from nature. She has studied those European
painters, writers and musicians who transitioned to America; abstract expressionism came directly out of
Impressionism and Cubism. www.lornaritz.com
