WEST END MUSEUM MEMBERSHIP MEETING & SILENT AUCTION - September 19, 2013
On Thursday, September 19, 2013, The West End Museum will host a special Member
Meet-up and Silent Auction event from 6:30-9:30pm at 150 Staniford Street in Boston.
Come join members of the West End Museum for a fall social and silent auction.
The event provides a great opportunity for West End residents - and all others -
to view the Museum's exhibits, including its permanent collection of neighborhood
artifacts titled, The Last Tenement. Food and drinks will be served and Museum staff
will be on hand to provide information on Museum membership.
Duane Lucia, Museum Curator, is enthusiastic about the meetup. "Our members are
an integral part of the West End Museum" says Duane. "The more involved our members
become, the more creative we get with our exhibits and programming. In the case
of Old West Enders, much of our archive collection has been built up by their contribution
of material culture (photos, documents and artifacts)."
Several items will be available for auction, including: F1 Racing certificates,
gift certificates to The Capital Grille restaurant, a limited edition Jules Aarons
book of photography, free personal training sessions at Beacon Hill Athletic Club,
a gift certificate to Bea's Nails, a Reggae Brunch for 2 at West End Johnny's, a
gift certificate to the new Tip Tap Room Bar and Grille, a gift certificate to
West End Salon, a limited edition book from Gallery Kayafas, a limited edition print
from West End artist Evelyn Berde, a special print of the Grand Canal in Venice
and a seasonal gift basket from Whole Foods.
There is a $10 entry donation which includes a complimentary drink ticket. A discounted
$5 entry donation is reserved for existing members of the Museum.
