SOMERVILLE NEEDS PIANO SITTERS - September/October 2013
Piano Sitter Volunteers Needed!
The City of Somerville, the Somerville Arts Council and the Nave Gallery are pleased to host the Celebrity Series of Boston Street Piano project. Starting tonight and continuing for three weeks, an upright piano decorated by Somerville artist Fran McCormick will be sited in Statue Park in Davis Square.
We encourage folks to stop by and play, bring a group of friends, give your kids a lesson. The piano will be “unwrapped” each day around 9 a.m. and “wrapped up” each evening around 9 p.m. In the case of rain, the piano stays covered.
We need piano sitters to help us insure the piano is open and available to the general public. If you commute to and from Davis and/or live or work in the area, we need your help to open and close the piano for the public.
The effort will be simple. We’ll provide you with the combination lock. The tarp will be stored behind the piano. That’s it.
Support public art and help spread the word to pianists among you!
