URBAN BEEKEEPING LECTURE IN SOMERVILLE - April 10, 2013

Wednesday, April 10, 2013, 7-9 PM

Tufts Administration Building (TAB), 167 Holland Street

Second floor, wheelchair accessible.

Urban Beekeeping is the topic for the April meeting of the Somerville Garden Club. Noah Wilson-Rich, Ph.D., will talk about the importance of bees as pollinators, how to establish and maintain backyard hives, as well as how to collect honey. Wilson-Rich is a behavioral ecologist, beekeeper, and founder of the company Boston's Best Bees.

All Somerville Garden Club meetings are free and the public is invited to attend. The Club meets the second Wednesday of every month. Each meeting opens with announcements, followed by a horticultural question and answer segment, a lecture or presentation, and concludes with a raffle of donated plants and garden items. Parking is available on site, and the building is a short walk from the Davis Square T station.
