Call for Talent
The Somerville Arts Council is looking for jazz and blues acts to perform at our fifth annual city-wide jazz festival. Get involved so you don’t miss out!
Festival dates: June 16-22, 2013
Joe’s Jazz and Blues Festival is back this year. Kicking off on Sunday, June 16th, the festival will make its way through local hotspots throughout the week, and close with an all-day free concert at Powderhouse Park on June 22th. We are looking for amazing talent to perform at the city concert on the 22nd at Powderhouse Park (raindate, 23th). This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your unique jazz and blues sounds--we want everything from swampy Cajun to Ethiopian Jazz. Preference will be given to bands with a Somerville connection. Please note, if you have played in the past two years, we are only considering new applicants.
Deadline: April 1
How to Apply:
By Email: Send to somjazzfest@gmail.com with “Joe’s Jazz and Blues Fest Application” as the header.
Provide the following info :
1. Name of artist or group
2. Contact info: contact person, e-mail and mailing address, & phone
3. Brief description of performance
4. Technical requirements (beyond typical stage, sound)
5. Number of artists/performers
6. Fee requested for one 50 minute set
7. Somerville affiliation (if any)
8. Web site or MySpace url. Or if needed send mp3s.
All applications will be reviewed by a jury.
Deadline: April 1
We will contact chosen artists by April 16th.
