SOMERVILLE CARNIVAL - June 5, 2011

The City of Somerville and East Somerville Main Streets will present a Carnival at SomerStreets on June 5th from noon-5pm!!

SomerStreets is a series of events to be held throughout the summer months by the City of Somerville and Community Partners that close Somerville streets to cars and open them to people to walk, ride their bikes, run, and enjoy the character of the surrounding neighborhoods. Carnival @ SomerStreets will be a festive day for the community with open streets, a motion parade, music, a drum circle, children's activities, a farmer's market and more!

We would like to invite the East Somerville and Somerville Communities at large to get involved! We are currently seeking local dancers and dance groups, artists to create public installations, people to bring great children's activities, and volunteers of all kinds.

We will be hosting an open meeting for the community on MARCH 28, from 6:30-8pm at MAYA SOL Restaurant 179 Broadway, East Somerville (near McGrath Highway)~ Come and eat delicious pupusas and find out more about this great event!

East Somerville Main Streets is one of the community partner for Carnival @ SomerStreets, to get involved contact East Somerville Main Streets event coordinator: Jenn Bliss - moonshipmail@gmail.com.
