Kicking off on Sunday, June 19th, the festival will make its way through local hotspots throughout the week, and close with an all-day free concert at Powderhouse Park on June 25th.

We are looking for amazing talent to perform at the city concert on the 25th at Powderhouse Park (raindate, 26th). This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your unique jazz and blues sounds--we want everything from swampy Cajun to Ethiopian Jazz. Preference will be given to bands with a Somerville connection. Please note, if you have played in previous years, we are only considering new applicants.

If you can share support material (music samples, press clippings) via your website or MySpace, please apply by email. Send an email to somjazzfest@gmail.com with "Joe’s Jazz and Blues Fest Application" as the header. Provide the following info :

1. Name of artist or group

2. Contact info: contact person, e-mail and snail mail, phone, fax and Web site (if applicable)

3. Brief description of performance

4. Technical requirements (beyond typical stage, sound)

5. Number of artists/performers

6.
Fee requested for one 50 minute set

7. Somerville affiliation (if any)

8. Web site or MySpace url.

If you don’t have a website or MySpace page, please send information (answer questions 1-8 above) on a single piece of paper and include support material (music samples, press clippings). If you want this material returned to you, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

All applications will be reviewed by a jury.
We will contact chosen artists by April 16th.
