MEDIA EVENTS IN THE BOSTON AREA - November 2010
Juried Art Show in Newton
DeCordova Museum Juror Dina Deitsch chose key images from my 12-month project, Trees of My City to appear in Newton Open Studios on November 6th and 7th. Please stop by my exhibit, say hi and enjoy work from a variety of established and emerging artists. Link: http://www.newtonopenstudios.org/index.php
Dockside Tango
Who can forget Al Pacino's blind man's Tango sequence in "Scent of a Woman"? H-O-T. For my new series of 2 minutes films, I'm asking dancers to choreograph interesting pieces at locations around NY, CT & MA. Check out the first in the series, "Dockside Tango" on YouTube.
Solo Exhibit at Harvard
Mark your calendars for my high-definition surround-sound multimedia installation and fine art photography preview, Trees of My City, at The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University on Saturday, January 22nd at 2pm. The program combines memoir, prose and nature documentary in an interactive exhibit.
Client Spotlight
The talented, hardworking students at Berklee College of Music are an inspiration. They buck the odds to win annual scholarships in an incredibly competitive environment. This is the third consecutive year I've been chosen to Direct/Produce/Edit a film about these amazing youths. My crew and I filmed highlights of Freshman Year and interviewed Trustees to develop an appeal to donors. It premiers this week. See last year's winning fundraising film. Harvard Medical School
Harvard Medical School's Finding a Research Path for the Identification of Biomarkers of Sleepiness conference brought scientists and physicians from all over the world last month for a two day symposium. We were there to record the proceedings for later publication. Lesson learned: Get more sleep. This means you.
New Music Video
Singer/Actress Kathryn Howell and I have a new "Roberto & Kathryn" music video climbing the charts on YouTube. It's a mix of independent film, music video and jazz improvisation. Our debut album, "Don't Explain," is available now, direct or on iTunes.
