Featuring the work of more than 30 artists, this exhibition provides a multi-medium look at modern portraiture. The show includes photographic portraits, beaded portraits and images created entirely from buttons in addition to traditionally rendered images in oil and watercolor. Artists from throughout the North Shore are represented including:

The Portrait show was juried by Joseph Wardwell. Mr. Wardwell has exhibited widely in Boston including at the Allston Skirt Gallery, the Bernard Toale Gallery, the Rose Art Museum, the Mills Gallery, the Green Street Gallery and Hallspace. His exhibition at LaMontagne Gallery in Boston was named one of the city’s ten exhibitions of 2009 by both The Boston Globe and The Boston Phoenix. Mr. Wardwell is currently the Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing as well as an Artist in Residence at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
Pairing with this show in the Willow Community Gallery is a collection of historical portraits from the Lynn Museum Collection.
LynnArts, Inc. is a private non-profit arts organization located in Lynn’s Central Square at 25 Exchange Street. The building houses two large and airy gallery spaces as well as a black-box rehearsal/performance space and several artist studios. The LynnArts office welcomes queries regarding artist exhibition proposals, membership, teaching opportunities, and rental of office and studio space.
