MIT SWEATLODGE EVENT - May 21 - 22, 2010

Friday May 21 through Sunday May 22
Location: Richard Fleischner Courtyard on the MIT Campus, 25 Ames St.

MIT students from the Society of Creatives, Department of Architecture, Program in Art, Culture, & Technology and Media Arts & Sciences will host a weekend-long inflatable art intervention on the MIT campus. Happening over 3 themed days, "Construct," "Experience," and "Deconstruct," Sweat Lodge will feature performances, happenings, structures, workshops, and experiences focusing on social and sensory perception. The project is designed to foster creative collaboration between MIT students and the communities of MIT, Cambridge, and Boston.

Participants include: Jerry Adler, Haseeb Ahmed, Veronica Barerra, Clare Bayley, Emily Berger, Erik Benjamins, Jess Camacho, Adam Collins and Chris Clepper, Sam Cohen & Faye Nixon, Dorian Dargan, Jegan Vincent de Paul, Deborah Egloff, Madeline Elish, Claxton Everett, Ryan O'Toole & AKA/Noah Feehan, Mary Hale & Brandon Roy, Quinnton J. Harris, Catherine Havasi, Audrey Horst, Sohin Hwang & Jaekyung Jung, Seth Hunter, Sam Kronick, Amanda Leaman, Amy LeMessurier, Ray Luo, Charlie Mathis, Catherine McMahon & Amanda Moore, Maria Molteni, Fred Montiel, Ashley Nash, Ahn D. Nguyen, Robert Ochshorn, Kathryn Payne, Hannah Perner-Wilson, Angela Ratto, Johanna Reed, David Robert, Patrick Rodriguez, Carlos Ruvacalba, Wayne Stokes, Arya Tafvizi & Arash Wakers, Emily Tow, Alise Upitis, Gabriele Urbonaite, Noah Vawter, Nick Wang, Jeff Warren, Jess Wheelock, Sarah Witt, and Ian Wojtowicz.

Projects will facilitate experiential environments for audience participants through performance, architecture, installation, sound, visuals, smell, taste or other sensory media. Projects are designed to respond to architecture and the spatial, social, and environmental context which they will inhabit.
