Members of the New England Art Therapy Association explore the
multiple meanings "the art of practice" can have for an art therapist
including one's art practice, one's practice as an art therapist and
also the word practice at its simplest level.

The Art of Practice is on display at Gallery 321 at the Washington
Street Art Center during the month of September, with an opening
reception on Thursday, September 3rd from 6:00-9:00pm. Normal gallery
hours are Saturdays 12:00pm-4:00pm with additional viewings available
by appointment.

The New England Art Therapy Association (NEATA) is dedicated to the
advancement and support of regional art therapists. The association
also welcomes the membership and involvement of students, consumers
of our services, and professionals from other disciplines that use
the visual arts as a modality for healing, recovery and wellness.
NEATA's mission is to serve its members and the general public by
providing, at a nominal cost, educational programs, referral services
and supervision opportunities related to the advancement of art
therapy. NEATA is affiliated with The American Art Therapy
Association and seeks to pass on benefits offered by AATA to its
members.

The Washington Street Art Center houses Gallery 321, hosts studio
space for more than twenty visual artists, and presents exhibitions,
concerts, film series, and other art initiatives. The Center
participates in Somerville Open Studios each May and an annual open
studios and craft fair in December.

Street: a five-minute walk from Union Square and a ten-minute walk
