at Annual Crafts Showcase Preview Reception
Boston musician will be performing live at BAC’s Craft Showcase Preview Reception
(Brookline, MA) – October 24, 2008 – Boston-based jazz pianist Anders Vercelli specializes in performing jazz standards from the Great American Songbook featuring composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Richard Rodgers. He chooses selections made famous by such jazz legends as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole. Vercelli has also been influenced by such modern peers as Harry Connick Jr. or Robyn McKelle.
Hailing from Block Island, pianist Anders first began playing piano at a local movie theatre. His rich, full quality sound attracted nightly audiences and offers to play at special events all over Rhode Island. He progressed in his career by attending the Berklee College of Music in 2005, when he studied piano with Bob Winter, principal pianist for the Boston Pops Orchestra. The Brookline Arts Center has invited Vercelli to perform at the Brookline Art Center’s Crafts Showcase preview party on Wednesday, December 3 at 6 p.m. at the BAC galleries on 86 Monmouth St. in Brookline, providing the perfect setting for festive holiday shopping. The preview party serves as an opportunity to get the first pick among the unique arts and crafts presented in this year’s Crafts Showcase. Tickets to the Preview Reception are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door.
