LEITH MACDONALD'S WOOD BLOCK PRINTS
A reception will be held May 4th, 2008 from 1:30- 4:30pm at the Somerville Public Library Gallery to mark the opening of Somerville artist Leith MacDonald’s month-long show. Please come join the artist for conversation, light refreshment.
Each of Leith's nontraditional prints is hand pulled by the artist from one of his own hand carved blocks. Characterized by aggressive marks gouged in wood, his stylized figures and shapes exaggerate what he views essential, often dealing with social and environmental issues.
