AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Mass Theatrica will be holding auditions for our upcoming season on Saturday, June 14, 2008, from 11am to 5pm at Southgate Theater, 30 Julio Drive, Shrewsbury, MA. We are only hearing singers from the greater Boston area and metro west, who have their own transportation, as we perform many concerts in the Worcester area as well as The North Shore.

We are looking to cast all roles in THE MEDIUM by Gian Carlo Menotti except for Baba, which is already cast. This show goes up at the end of October and the beginning of November in 2008. These roles will pay a stipend. Singers should bring a 20th century English aria, preferably by Menotti. If you are singing for Monica, please prepare Monica’s Waltz. An accompanist will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. We will hear a dramatic monologue from those actors interested in the role of Toby, a mute young adult who is Monica’s love interest. Toby is of Gypsy origin, and dancer-like in stature. His role is very dramatic and central to the entire plot.

We will also be hearing singers in general for up coming concerts. These positions are non-paying; we use these concerts as fund- raisers for our main stage productions.
