BROOKLINE WATERCOLOR EXHIBITION - Nov 28 - Dec 16, 2007

Starting November 28, 2007, the Brookline Arts Center (BAC) will present a selection of new watercolors by Brookline artist and architect, Luca Ricco. "Luca Ricco: Watercolors" is his second solo exhibition at the BAC and is remembered fondly for his first, as it drew an exceptional and enthusiastic crowd.

As a young man in Italy, Luca Ricco studied art and architecture. “I always had a passion for painting, but, for one reason or another, I was trained as an architect, and I sketched and painted as hobbies. In 2003, I had a brain tumor, and at that point I re-evaluated my life. Painting was a central part of my life, and I decided to devote more time to it.” Since Ricco was partially paralyzed in 2003, his work has grown and developed to new levels of mastery. He now manages a busy career in architecture, while painting extraordinary new watercolors.

To meet Luca Ricco, please join us at the exhibition’s Opening held with during Crafts Showcase Preview Party on Wednesday, November 28th from 6:00-9:00pm. The exhibition of watercolor landscapes filled with color, movement, and emotion will continue through December 16th.
“Luca is an amazing artist and person. His artwork reflects his vitality and love for life. It is our honor to put his watercolors on display for the second time at the Brookline Arts Center,” says assistant director of the Brookline Arts Center, Jonelle Prill-Tate.

In conjunction with the new exhibit, the Brookline Arts Center will present its 33rd annual Crafts Showcase from November 28 - December 16. During this time, the public will be able to view and purchase handmade crafts from artisans across the country, finding unique gifts for the holiday season. Approximately 80-100 craftspeople will exhibit at this year’s Crafts Showcase, all hand-selected by a jury of artists, collectors and designers with the Brookline Arts Center. Merchandise at the Crafts Showcase will include jewelry, glassware, ceramics, Christmas ornaments and Hanukkah items, kitchenware, clothing and many more gift items.
