LynnArts Kids Summer Camp - July 23 - August 17, 2007
"e", the Environmental Learning and ActionCenter Comes to LynnArts

E-inc, the Environmental Learning and ActionCenter recently featured on WBZ-TV will make its first appearance in Lynn this summer through a partnership with LynnArts inc. during the LynnArts Kids summer camp. The organization, known simply as 'e', pairs science education with community action to inspire environmental change in urban communities.
The 'e' staff will be working with the LynnArts summer campers during the third week of LynnArts three week art camp sessions. Amongst other scientific explorations, participants will learn about the importance of the South American Rainforests through the creation of a rainforest art installation to be presented to the community on the last day of each session.
Steve Negrón, Director of Special Events and Programs at LynnArts was contacted by Dr. Ricky Stern, the Founder and Director of 'e' who was looking to expand the Cambridge based organization's reach into surrounding communities.
"Dr. Stern contacted us and thought that Lynn would be a perfect site to bring the environmental program to because it's an urban environment. We are thrilled to have 'e' inc. make its debut in Lynn here at LynnArts. The time is now for kids to be aware of our impact on the environment. This is the kind of experience that makes learning about the environment fun, personal and creative."
Each year the LynnArts summer camp seeks to offer new and innovative programs for the children of the Greater Lynn community. Along with the 'e' program, LynnArts also offers visual and performance art opportunities during its summer camp programs. The LynnArts Summer camps run from July 9 through August 17.
