Come learn how the Cambridge Water Department in conjunction with volunteers from Friends of Fresh Pond Reservation plans to control the spread of this invasive plant with the help of a carefully tested species of beetle. We will show you how purple loosestrife has affected the natural areas of the Reservation, and how the "Galerucella" beetle will affect the loosestife. Those interested in volunteering will learn about how they can help prepare beetle nurseries and collect data.
