Groundwork Somerville is issuing a call to artists to help us create and produce a sign for the Community Path Extension space at the end of the Community Path in Davis Square (Cedar Street). The only stipulations are that 1) we cannot spend a lot of money (!); and 2) we want to say something to the following effect: Welcome to the Community Path Extension! Stay tuned for more exciting developments… We are hoping to work with a Somerville artist to present this piece in early spring (mid-late April). Utilizing old traffic signs (from Traffic and Parking) or other such transit-related pieces are possibilities. Incorporating the Community Path Extension map is also a possibility.
