Art & Cultural Events List

For the last three years "The Somerville News Writers Festival" has attracted such writers as Franz Wright ( Pulitzer Prize Winner), Andre Dubus, Tom Perrotta, Afaa Michael Weaver, Robert Olen Butler, Lan Samantha Chang, ( Iowa Writers Workshop head), Sue Miller, Steve Almond, and others.This year we have such writers as: Nick Flynn, Lisa Carver (Nerve.Com), and other select folks as featured readers. The festival takes place in a hotbed of literary activity (Somerville, Mass.) that is next door to major universities like Harvard, Boston University, MIt, Tufts, and at least 100 others in the immediate area. The festival is well-attended, and publicized in the media.
