THE SOMERVILLE ARTS COUNCIL
POSITION: Program Director
PROGRAM: Books of Hope
TERMS: Contractual $22 per hour
20 hours per week for approx. 10 months, not to exceed 900 hrs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Professional writing background. Minimum three years
experience working with youth in an arts education setting; experience
developing and evaluating arts curriculum; experience with diverse inner
city youth. Masters Degree/State Certification preferred; bilingual skills
(Spanish or Haitian Kreyol) a plus.

Art Without Walls is a collaborative project designed to provide free arts
programming to low-income Somerville youth in partnership with
community-based youth service agencies. Books of Hope is an after school
component, primarily serving teens residing in the Mystic Housing
