CROSSING BOUNDARIES EXHIBITION - September 17, 2006

Boundaries are often created to set limits. Although they may protect us, boundaries may also prevent us from revealing fantastic new ideas and places that are unfamiliar but well worth discovering. In our fall exhibition, "CROSSING BOUNDARIES," Pigmentia Studio & Gallery will explore works by eight artists who demonstrate this theme of challenging creative inhibitions. There will be an open-to-the-public reception with the artists on Sunday, September 17, from 1 – 5 p.m.

Somerville artist Wade Aaron's brilliant paintings are composed of curvaceous gaps cut into canvas and bridged by crisscrossed threads. Medford artists Adele Travisano and Tim Barner cross stylistic boundaries as they blend their individually distinctive methods in their collaborative acrylic paintings created in Travisano's garden. Gallery owner and photographer Lisa Tang Liu crosses media boundaries to produce an oil painting under Travisano's tutelage and more...

"Crossing Boundaries" can be viewed at Pigmentia Studio & Gallery at 13 Forest Street, right in the heart of Medford Square, from September 15 through October 14. Gallery hours during the exhibition are Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 11-6 and Saturday 1-5. Gallery is closed Thursday and Sunday.
