Art & Cultural Events List

The Somerville Arts Council and ArtsUnion invite visual artists to submit
work for WAP 2006. Selected work will hang in the windows of Union
Square businesses or be installed in outdoor locales. This is a juried
exhibit; proposals will be reviewed by Somerville Arts Council staff
and board members. We particularly seek work that is relatively large,
bold and innovative--art that will capture people's attention while
walking through Union Square and help convey the vibrant, innovative
artistic vibe of the area. Although we can't guarantee certain windows
or sites, we are very interested in "site-specific" installations. If
artists have a particular business window or outdoor location in mind,
please mention this in your application.


Selected artists will receive a $100 honorarium.

Please note that artists are required to install and take down their
work and should be comfortable working with business owners.
