CALL FOR LOGO DESIGN - August 1, 2006
Seeking submissions for a design for a logo for Historic Somerville
DEADLINE AUGUST 1, 2006
Historic Somerville is a nonprofit, 501c3 (pending) organization that
advocates for the preservation of Somerville's historic buildings, collections, oral
histories, etc.. anything related to our history that we deem worth
preserving. (Landscapes?) We recognize that preservation is not an end in itself, but
is part of the humanistic process of connecting people to their roots. To
this end, education and advocacy are important aspects of our mission. More
information about Historic Somerville can be found on the web at <<
http://www.historicsomerville.org>> At the site, two links may also be helpful: one to the
City's historic preservation website and the other to the American Hellenic
Association's site that features our upcoming exhibition in collaboration with
the Somerville Museum: The World of George Dilboy and Immigration in
Somerville: the Greek Experience. This is the first of what we hope will be a
series of exhibitions based on immigration to Somerville. For more information,
contact me at bmangum411@aol.com or send your submission to Barbara Mangum, 9
Josephine Ave., Somerville, MA 02144. (FYI: PDF files are fine, I use a Mac)
Judging will occur at the Historic Somerville meeting on August 3,
7:30-9:00PM at the Somerville Museum on Central Street. Thank you.
