[somartscouncil] GrownUp StoryTime: Just Be - [somartscouncil]

Join us for Boston's GrownUp StoryTime at Aeronaut Brewing Company 7:30 pm on Wednesday June 27th. It's time to relax and take in some community storytelling at our show "Just Be".If you're not sure what this is all about here's the deal: GrownUp Storytime is an hour of funny, heartwarming, crazy, amazing stories read aloud. Remember storytime before bedtime? Well this is just like that only replace a loved one with a weird stranger, warm milk with craft brews and your bedroom with Aeronaut's tap room. The best part is that you don't have to go to sleep afterward - cause we're all grown-up now!We take short short (fact, fiction, and everything in between) stories written by the community, pair local performers, and hilarity and/or poignant storytelling ensues. Come enjoy a beer and listen to some great stories!  Check out our Facebook invite for more details and links to pictures from past events: https://ift.tt/2MXHki1 in writing? Check out our call for writers: https://ift.tt/2pzzgvo to read? Email us at GUSTboston@gmail.com or message us (BooTown Boston) on FB.We think supporting local artist's is important and so is accessibility to the arts which is why the event is FREEEEEEEE but we ask for a $5 donation per person. We pay our writers and readers to show appreciation for their work and for entertaining us. #SupportLocalArtists   __._,_.___ Posted by: bostongust@bootown.org Reply via web post • Reply to sender • Reply to group • Start a New Topic • Messages in this topic (1) Have you tried the highest rated email app? [somartscouncil] Live jazz at Third Life Studio: Mandorla Music presents the Bob Gullotti Trio, Fri 6/22 - [somartscouncil]

Bob Gullotti Trio Fri 6/22, 8pm Third Life Studio, 33 Union Square, Somerville $18 advance tiix / FB event Celebrating summer's arrival with this fantastic trio lead by drummer Bob Gullotti of legendary Boston trio The Fringe! Bob will be joined by the great Tim Ray on piano and his Fringemate John Lockwood on bass.  Bob tells me we can expect to hear compositions by Wayne Shorter, Tadd Dameron and Jeff Galindo as well as some free improvisation. A founding member of The Fringe (46 years and counting!), Bob Gullotti has also performed, recorded, and toured with a wide range or artists including Eddie Henderson, J.J. Johnson, Joe Lovano, Kenny Werner, John Patitucci and others... and he may be the only jazz drummer out there to have appeared with both Phish and Rodney Dangerfield. Tim Ray’s wide-ranging skills as a soloist and accompanist have afforded him the opportunity to perform with legendary performers from across genr es. He leads his own ensembles and is a first-call pianist on Boston's jazz scene, spent years in Lyle Lovett's touring band, and has performed or recorded with artists as diverse as Esperanza Spalding, Gary Burton, Phil Woods, Aretha Franklin, Tony Bennett, Soul Asylum, and the Boston Pops. John Lockwood is among Boston's busiest bassists, including weekly appearances with The Fringe (he's the band's "new guy," having joined in 1985) and holding down the low end in the Makanda Project. He has also appeared with Gary Burton, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Dave Liebman, Joe Maneri, Joe Pass, Danilo Perez, Pharoah Sanders and many others.
