Mandorla Music is very pleased to have Michael Gregory Jackson back! His past Mandorla appearances - first as a surprise guest of The Mobile Trio and later in a solo concert - have been very memorable (and sold out) occasions, and among his only Boston-area shows in recent years. This time around, he'll be joined by busyNYC bassist Keith Witty.

For decades, Michael has brought together avant-garde jazz, blues, R&B and singer-songwriter influences to create a unique and captivating sound. As a guitarist, Michael has been cited as an influence by such heavyweights such as Bill Frisell, Vernon Reid and Marc Ribot. His career has been one of unusual breadth, including such diverse elements as time with avant-garde giants such as Oliver Lake and Wadada Leo Smith, collaborations with acclaimed producer Nile Rogers and Steely Dan's Walter Becker, involvement in a Mick Jagger solo project in the late '80s, and work in recent years with his Clarity Quartet featuring top Danish players, his Clarity Trio with Rakalam Bob Moses, and his Spirit-Signal-Strata project with Kenwood Dennard.
